Donald L. Dries, 87, of Allentown, died January 7, 2015 in his residence. He was the husband of Nancy A. (Siegfried) Dries. Born in Corning, he was the son of the late Daniel H. and Carrie V. (Schafer) Dries. Donald worked for the First National Bank of Allentown and later for Meridian Bank, retiring in 1987 as manager of the Macungie Branch. He was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Donald was a member and past president of the American Institute of Banking, member of the Emmaus JC's, member and past president of the Emmaus Rotary Club, served with the Lower Macungie Fire Police, life member of New Temple Lodge #720 F&AM, member of Consistory Valley of Allentown, and Macungie VFW. He honorably served his country in the Army during WWII. Survivors: Wife; Sons, Michael Dries of Allentown and Brian L. Dries and wife Denise of Allentown; Daughter, Peggy wife of Earl Heminitz of Zionsville; 4 Grandchildren; 4 Step Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren and 2 Step Great Grandchildren. Services: Funeral Service Monday, January 12, 2015 at 2:00 PM in Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5901 Kings Highway South, Old Zionsville, PA 18068. Viewing 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the church. Interment with military honors will follow in Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
