IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Denise D.
Rohrbach
October 7, 1954 – December 18, 2023
Denise Rohrbach, age 69, of Coopersburg, passed away on Dec. 18, 2023 after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Kenneth E. and Charlotte Ann Shuey (nee Lucas). She grew up in the small village of Nittany, PA. She and her younger sister, Shelly, had many happy memories visiting their grandparent's farms and exploring their youth with their wonderful cousins. She graduated from Bellefonte High School and from Penn State University with a bachelor's degree in Social Work in 1975. While at Penn State, she met her future husband, Robert. Bob and Denise were blessed with two wonderful children. Together they traveled to all 50 states and numerous countries throughout the world. Denise continued her education at St. Francis University and received a master's degree in Hospital Administration.
She held various hospital positions over her 30-year career. She worked as trauma social worker at Lehigh Valley Hospital, a director of case management at St. Luke's and was a Vice-President at Good Shepherd. She went on to work for a Dallas-based consulting company and opened an inpatient rehabilitation unit at Grand View Hospital.
She loved flowers and gardens. She loved creating miniature gardens and exhibited them at the Philadelphia Flower Show. She has a collection of ribbons that she won. She was an avid supporter of Penn State, an athletics season ticket holder and she loved attending football games every fall. Denise loved her family dearly, including her furry friends. Her husband, children, and grandchildren were the light of her life. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, cousin and friend. She will truly be missed and never, ever forgotten. Most importantly, Denise's life was defined by faith. As a loyal member of The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit in Emmaus, she served in Council, taught Sunday School for 30 years and was passionate about outreach activities.
Denise is survived by her husband, Robert of Coopersburg, PA; her son, Brian, wife Laurie and two grandsons, Jack and Harry of Norwell, MA; her daughter, Jennifer and her husband Christopher Swetz of Leesburg, VA; her sister, Shelly Weaver and her husband, Joel of Ocala, FL. She was blessed to have dear friends and a wonderful extended family.
A celebration of Denise's life is planned for early spring. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
