Obituary

David John Schneck, 79 of Zionsville, PA, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, October 8, 2022.

Born on October 26, 1942 in Pottsville, PA.  He was the son of the late Ernest & Emily (Hoy) Schneck of Pine Grove, PA.

He was a 1960 graduate of Pine Grove Area High School. After graduation, he completed a home study course in Drafting from Chicago Technical School and a Heavy Equipment Operators course in Wilkes Barre, PA.

During his teen years, he was a Newspaper Carrier for the Pottsville Republican Newspaper and a Farm Laborer for the Ronald Daubert Dairy Farm in Pine Grove. After graduation he worked as a miner in a mine owned by Tom Daubert of Pine Grove, as a laborer at the Garden State Tannery of Reading PA. and then as a laborer advancing to superintendent for James D. Morrissey Inc. of Philadelphia. He was employed by JDM, Inc. for 58 years. In addition to working for JDM, Inc., he started his own business (David J. Schneck Logging, Inc.) and built two family homes.

His favorite hobby was work and he found time to enjoy hunting and camping. In his young adult life, he enjoyed playing his Cornet.

He was a member of Paradise Valley Hunting Club of Pine Grove, a member of Footlog Rod and Gun Club of Poe Valley and a member of Zionsville Community Fish and Game Association.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Frank (Butch) Schneck, a daughter in-law, Roxane (Schweitzer) Schneck, a brother in-law, Roger Kohler and a nephew, Cody Troutman.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Emma Jane (Mars) Schneck; two sons, David Allen and his

wife Carolyn (Coffey Anderson) Schneck of Basking Ridge, NJ and Andrew John and his wife Deb (Jefferson) Schneck of Auburn, PA; Four grandchildren, Gabriel and his wife Taylor (Yandle) Schneck of Alburtis, PA, Kacie Schneck of Auburn, PA, Lindsey Anderson and fiancé Erik Higginbotham of Marietta, GA, and Paige Anderson and fiancé Tommy Wehrkamp of Huntersville, NC; and one great granddaughter, Emma Catherine Schneck of Alburtis, PA. One Brother; Lynn and wife Linda (Daubert) Schneck, three sisters; Dawn (Schneck) Kohler, Marion (Schneck) and husband Nick DeFlavio, and Dana (Schneck) and husband Myrl Troutman, sister in-law, Faye (Reinhart) Schneck, all of Pine Grove, PA. and many nephews, nieces, grand nephews and nieces and great grand nephews and nieces.

Viewing Saturday, October 15, 2022, beginning at11:00 AM at Home, 7135 Carls Hill Road, Zionsville, PA 18092 followed by a luncheon, sharing of memories, and funeral services.  Interment will follow in Upper Milford Mennonite Cemetery.
