David E. Evans David E. Evans, 90, of Macungie, died Feb. 1, 2011 in Lehigh Center. He was the husband of Mary Lou (Watkins) Evans. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in March 2010. Born in Campbell, OH, he was the son of the late Ray and Rena (Rupp) Evans. He was a civil engineer for D & H Welding for many years retiring in 1996. He honorably served his country in the Army Rangers during WWII, serving in New Guinea, Philippines, and the Pacific. He was a 50-year mason and member of Port Byron Lodge #130 F&AM, member of the Rajah Shriners, and the Valley of Allentown Scottish Rite. He was a life member of the Macungie Fire Company, life member of Macungie VFW Post 9264, past commander of the Delhigh Power Squadron, and loved sailing for many years. Survivors: Wife; Sons, David W. Evans and wife Sarah of Mertztown and Raymond D. Evans and wife Ruby of Virginia Beach, VA; Daughter, Kathleen A. wife of Andy Anderson of Bradenton, FL; 7 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. Services: Funeral and Masonic Services Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, Inc., 250 Main Street, Emmaus. Viewing 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Macungie.
