David J. Dowling, 64, of Bethlehem, PA, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024. He was the son of Raymond J. and Lucille M. Dowling who both predeceased him. David was an amazing conversationalist who could make even the most mundane of topics interesting. David loved animals and music (particularly the Rolling Stones). He was quick-witted, smart and could make anyone laugh with his self-deprecating humor. Even in challenging situations, David always maintained a positive outlook and could always laugh. David was a devoted son who took care of his parents as they aged and up until their respective passings. He was a proud uncle who always found the coolest of gifts for his nephew. He must of spent hours on the internet to find the perfect gift(s) to amaze and light up the eyes of his nephew. In his childhood and young teenage years, David was very protective of his younger sister who always wanted to tag-along (and often did tag-along) with the older neighborhood group that played football, baseball, street and ice hockey and group nighttime chase (a form of tag). He was both giving of his time and generous of his possessions. Growing up, David was the best big brother a sister could ever ask for. David is survived by his sister Dawn (Derek), nephew Liam, Aunt and Uncle Elaine and John, first cousins and his beloved dog Sasha.
