Daniel B. Tompkins, 84, of Downsville, NY, died on March 3, 2015 in Cornerstone Living. Born in Gregorytown, NY, he was the son to the late William and Flora (Foote) Tompkins. He worked for Post Construction and later was a self-employed slate quarry worker. He is a direct descendent of Daniel D. Tompkins Vice President of the U.S.A, and governor of New York. He proudly served his country in the Army, where he was a paratrooper. Survivors: Sons, Daniel Tompkins and wife Liz of Staten Island, NY, and William Tompkins and wife Joanne of Princeton, NJ; Daughter, Marie wife of Richard James of Emmaus; Grandchildren, Richard Unterberger, Jennifer James, Stephen Tompkins, Samantha Tompkins, Robert Tompkins, and Joseph Tompkins; Brothers, Harold, Gerald, and William; Sisters, Jean, Dorothy, and Marie. He was predeceased by Brothers, Robert, John, and Martin; Sister, Betty. Services: Funeral Service Friday, Mar. 6, 2015 at 3:30 PM in Schantz Funeral Home P.C., 250 Main St, Emmaus.
