Daniel P. Cronin Daniel P. Pat Cronin, 70, of Macungie, died Sept. 13, 2008 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Gail L. (Hanna) Cronin. They celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary in June 2008. Born in Flint, MI, he was the son of the late Hugh and Rose (Devlin) Cronin. He was a 1956 graduate of St. Matthew High School and a 1960 graduate of John Carroll University. He served for 10 years in the U.S. Army and as a Major in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968, receiving the Bronze Star in 1968 for Meritorious Service in Ground Operations against hostile forces. He also served in the Korean War. He taught military Science at the University of Connecticut where he met his future wife. He worked for Lehigh Valley Dairies and Nature Products in Allentown. He started his own company, Lehigh Cultured Marble, on April 1, 1974 in Coplay, which became a leader in the industry. He was a past-president of the CMI Institute as well as a member of the Northeast Cast Polymer Association. He retired in 2003, selling the company, now known as Lehigh Surfaces. He was a member of the Blue Mountain Wanderers and the American Association of Woodturners. He was a member of St. Anns Catholic Church, Emmaus. Survivors: Wife; Daughters; Kelly A. wife of John Kidd of Wescosville and Erin K. Cronin of California; Brother-in-law; Arnold Hanna and wife Geri of Connecticut; Granddaughters, Emily and Laura Kidd; Nephews, Todd St. Germain and Marc Hanna of Connecticut. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008 at 10:30 AM in St. Anns Catholic Church, 415 South 6th St., Emmaus. Viewing Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in Schantz Funeral Home, Inc., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Interment with military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
