Dale Franklin Smith Dale Franklin Smith, 61, of Macungie, died February 21, 2011. He was the husband of Joan N. (Foss) Smith. They celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary on March 24, 2010. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Althea K. (Schmick) Smith of Macungie and the late William D. Smith. He was a graduate of Muhlenberg College. He worked in the IT Department for PPL for the last 40 years. He was a very active member of Solomons United Church of Christ, where he was a past council president. He was a member of the Lehigh Valley Corvette Association and the Lehigh Valley Computer Club. Survivors: Wife; Mother; Son, Brian D. Smith and wife Kathryn of Macungie; Daughter, Susan K. Smith of Macungie; Brothers, William R. Smith husband of the late Theresa Smith of Bethlehem and Donald S. Smith and wife Linda of Kutztown; Sisters, Ann Smith of Bethlehem and Dolores K. wife of Scott Ziengenfus of Palmerton; Grandchildren, Connor and Gwendolyn; Numerous Nieces and Nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Laurel. Services: Funeral Services Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 2:00 PM in Solomons U.C.C., 82 South Church St., Macungie. Viewing 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the church.
