Charlotte A. Peterson, 82, of Emmaus, died August 16, 2013 in St. Luke's Hospice House. She was the widow of Gilbert E. Peterson. Born in Danville, VA, she was the daughter of the late William M. and Mary Jane (Bethel) Brown. She worked for the former PET Frozen Foods and General Mills, retiring in the 1990's. She also worked for Scott Paper Co., in Chester, Delaware County, where she met her husband. They were married over 50 years. She previously was an aide at the Swain School. She was a member of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, Emmaus, serving on the vestry, altar guild, and was a member of the choir. She was a member of the Green Circle, an assistant Girl Scout Troop leader, an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking and sewing. Survivors: Son, Norman E. Peterson of Philadelphia; Daughters, Rev. Iris E. Peterson of Danbury, CT and Dr. April L. Peterson of Emmaus; Brother, Edward Brown of Danville, VA; Sisters, Hazel Adams of Danville, VA, Clara Bowe of Berlin, NJ, and Anita Boyd of Danville, VA. Included in her survivors are many nieces, nephews, in-laws, relatives, neighbors and friends. She was predeceased by brothers William, Curtis, and Freddie Brown.
