Charles E. Schleifer Charles E. Schleifer, 92, formerly of Emmaus, died Sept. 27, 2011 in Devon House. He was the widower of Dorothy E. (Ritter) Schleifer. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Erwin and Mary (Gitscher) Schleifer. He worked for the former Bethlehem Steel, Hilltop Service Station and Mack Trucks, Inc. He was a member of Old Zionsville U.C.C. He honorably served his country in the Navy. Survivors: Daughters, Susan R. Townsend of Casper, WY, Linda L. wife of Robert McGuire of Cheyenne, WY, and Bonnie L. wife of Lou Heller of Walnutport; Brother, Bertram Schleifer of Japan; Sister, Betty Gerhart of Bethlehem; 5 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. Services: Memorial Services Fri., Sept. 30, 2011 at 11:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Private interment in Allen Union Cemetery, Whitehall.
