Charles E. Schleifer Charles E. Schleifer, 92, formerly of Emmaus, died Sept. 27, 2011 in Devon House. He was the widower of Dorothy E. (Ritter) Schleifer. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Erwin and Mary (Gitscher) Schleifer. He worked for the former Bethlehem Steel, Hilltop Service Station and Mack Trucks, Inc. He was a member of Old Zionsville U.C.C. He honorably served his country in the Navy. Survivors: Daughters, Susan R. Townsend of Casper, WY, Linda L. wife of Robert McGuire of Cheyenne, WY, and Bonnie L. wife of Lou Heller of Walnutport; Brother, Bertram Schleifer of Japan; Sister, Betty Gerhart of Bethlehem; 5 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.
