Charles H. Gehring Charles H. Gehring, 91, of Emmaus, died March 17, 2009 in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Elisabeth M. (Marcks) Gehring. They celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary in January 2009. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Helen (Schoenberger) and Charles H. Gehring, Sr. He was a graduate of Moravian College and Lehigh University. He was an educator and Superintendent of Northwestern Lehigh School District. Later he worked for Muhlenberg College Library, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Old Zionsville U.C.C. He was a 60-year member of the Manoquesy Lodge #413 F&AM, Bath, Lehigh Consistory Valley of Allentown, Rajah Temple Reading Shrine, Lehigh Shrine Club, and the Christmas City High Twelve Club. He honorably served his country in the Navy during WWII. Survivors: Wife; Son, Charles F. Gehring and wife Carol of Schnecksville; Daughter, Susan E. wife of Ben Giralico of New Tripoli; Grandchildren, Sara and Timothy; Great Grandson, Nathan. Services: Funeral Services Tues., March 24, 2009 at 11:00 AM in Old Zionsville U.C.C., 5981 Fountain Road, Old Zionsville. Viewing 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the church.
