Catherine B. Renninger died at the age of 92 on December 17, 2023 at Luther Crest surrounded by family. She was the daughter of the late Timothy H. Gehman and Marie B. Gehman. She graduated from Emmaus High School in 1949 and then from Sacred Heart School of Nursing in 1952. In 1952 Catherine married her high school sweetheart, David Renninger and they remained devoted to each other for more than 71 years.

Catherine was a woman of many interests and accomplishments. Her love of travel took her to many wonderful destinations throughout the world. Her interest in marine life led her to become a Certified Scuba Diver at the age of 41. In the early 1970's she became a life-long P.E.O. sister and was devoted to the cause of furthering educational opportunities for women. She also served as President of the Luther Tower Aides. In this position she managed the gift shop and cafe for the benefit of the residents.

She is survived by her husband, David E. Renninger and three children: Sherry Renninger Sutton (William), Scott Renninger (Barbara), and Lori Renninger Sweede, eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her three siblings: Wiley P. Gehman (Leah), Sarah Gehman Cook, and Nora Gehman Nolan.

A celebration of life will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, 501 Chestnut Street, Emmaus PA, at 11:00 AM on December 27, 2023, followed by a luncheon in the Church Hall.  Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
