Carol Ann Jarrett Mayes Carol Ann Jarrett Mayes, 67, daughter of the late Lewis F. Jarrett, Jr. and Kathleen Lauterborn Jarrett, born in Glens Falls, NY on September 16, 1943 succumbed to the rigors of dementia on November 18, 2010. A 1961 graduate of Parkland High School, she went on to get her pilots license and spent most of her free time flying. After college she worked as a Lab Technician for Sacred Heart Hospital then as a nurse for Dr. Ralph Stoltz where she met her husband to be Roger Mayes. They were married September 14, 1974. Two years later after completing training she began work as a Paramedic for the City of Allentown. She was promoted to the position of first Paramedic Supervisor under the auspices of the Allentown Health Bureau, a position she held until her retirement in 1986. Moving to Cape Cod she became a Tour Guide. Her self taught expertise and knowledge of every tourist location on the East Coast, including the Canadian Maritimes, soon made her eagerly sought after as a guide by many of the Touring Companies of New England. Survivors: Husband, Roger; Son, Jeffrey and wife Patricia of Ayer, Mass; Brothers, Paul and his wife Lynne of Macungie and Lewis F. Jarrett, III and his wife Tina of Schnecksville; Grandchildren, Liam and James Mayes of Ayer, Mass. She was predeceased by a brother, Dixon D. Jarrett. Services: Funeral Services Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Schantz Funeral Home, Inc., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Viewing 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home.
