Obituary

Carol G. Herbine Carol G. Herbine, 67, of Emmaus, died Nov. 22, 2008 in Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was the wife of John H. Herbine. They celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on April 22, 2008. Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Harold E. and Ruth (Edinger) Goepfert. She was a graduate of Tamaqua High School and attended Albright College and the University of North Carolina Greensboro. She worked for Wachovia Bank as a teller and retired after 15 years of service in 1987 as a Customer Service Manager. She also was a teachers aide and assistant Band Director for Emmaus High School. She was a member of St. Johns U.C.C., Emmaus, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, Youth Group Advisor, member of the choir, consistory, and treasurer of Boy Scout Troop 25. She was past president of the Muhlenberg Junior Womens Club, member of the Golden Oaks Golf Club Ladies League, Berks County Womens Golf Association, and Central Penn Golf Association. She was an avid pianist and Flyers fan. Survivors: Husband; Sons, David J. Herbine and wife Lynnette of Glenmoore, Jeffrey W. Herbine and wife Veronica of Whitehall, Kerry P. Herbine and wife Jenise of Kingman, AZ, and Gregory S. Herbine and wife Kimberley of Lower Macungie; 14 Grandchildren; Nieces, Melinda (Goepfert) Snyder and Debra (Goepfert) Coulton. She was predeceased by a daughter, Lynn Carol Herbine and a brother, Paul G. Goepfert. Services: Funeral Services Wed, Nov. 26, 2008 at 10:30 AM in St. Johns U.C.C., 139 North 4th St., Emmaus. Friends may call 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church. Interment will follow in Tuckerton Cemetery, Berks County. Schantz Funeral Home, Inc., Emmaus is in charge of arrangements.
