George, Jr.
November 10, 1929 – June 29, 2021
Carl R. George, Jr., 91, of Allentown, died June 29, 2021 in St. Luke's Hospital Allentown Campus. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Annie (Schuler) and Carl R. George, Sr. Carl was a 1947 graduate of Emmaus High School. He honorably served his country in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked at Rodale Manufacturing, where he became president, owned Turco Paint Company, and later was a general manager in electrical sales distribution until retiring in 1992. He was a member of Emmaus Lions Club, Emmaus Lodge #792 F&AM, and was a life member of the Emmaus Historical Society.
Carl is survived by his children, Michael George of Albuquerque, NM, Kim George Bell wife of Robert Bell of Sinking Spring, PA, and Scott George and wife Donna of Emmaus, PA; 5 grandchildren; sister-in-law Mary George. He was predeceased by longtime life partner, Fay B. Dunbar and is also survived by her children, Spurgeon Dunbar and wife Barbara, and Spurgeen Tretter, widow of the late Jack Tretter, as well as their 5 children. He was formerly married to the late Fay A. George Parry.
Lions Club and memorial services will be held on Wed., July 7, 2021 at 11:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus, PA 18049. Visitation 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Emmaus Moravian Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Emmaus Lions Club, c/o the funeral home.
