C. Gloria (Bast) Boyer, age 99, of Allentown, passed away on January 26, 2024 in Luther Crest in Allentown. She was born in Kulpmont, PA and spent much of her young life in Reading, PA, several years in Palmerton, PA and her last 54 years in Allentown. Gloria was the loving wife of the late Wilbur L. Boyer with whom she shared 76 years of marriage.

Gloria graduated from Reading High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Albright College in Reading, PA. She taught Home Economics and General Science in Lower Alsace Jr. High School from 1945-1950. She later earned her ALA-Accredited Certification for Library Science from Kutztown University. She was a School Librarian at Moore Township School, Northampton School District from 1970-1991. Gloria attended many librarian workshops and seminars to enrich the lives of her students.

Gloria was a very active member of The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit in Emmaus, belonging to many church committees. She was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #251, PA School Retirees and Golden Rule Chapter #390 O.E.S. in Reading, PA. She volunteered for many Lehigh area organizations and participated in local senior citizen groups.

She traveled extensively throughout the US and abroad. Her many interests included, reading, sewing, embroidery and cooking. Gloria enjoyed summers at Lake Hauto and found much joy from entertaining, traveling and being with her family and friends. Gloria is survived by her daughter, Lark Louise Heiney and her husband Michael; grandchildren Keza Lynn Boyd and her husband Joel, Ashley Michelle Siglin and her husband Jeff and Adrian Marie Miller and her husband Joshua; 4 great-grandchildren and son-in-law Joseph Kutzera. She was predeceased by daughter, Lynn Lois Kutzera; brother, William O. Bast and sister, Adele E. Bast.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be in Laureldale Cemetery in Reading, PA. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
