Bruce L. Bortz, 93, of Macungie, died May 2, 2018in Cedarbrook.  He was the husband of Margaret A. (Bear) Bortz.  Born in Mountainville, he was the son of the late Elden and Mae (Hildebeidel) Bortz.  He worked for General Electric as a mechanical engineer for over 30 years.  He was a member of Solomon's U.C.C., Macungie.  He honorably served his country in the Army during WWII.  Bruce was a member of the Macungie VFW, Macungie Fire Company, Macungie and Emmaus Historical Society, and the Shelter House Society.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; Son, Dean Bortz of Emmaus; Daughter, Carol wife of Timothy Maher of Macungie; Half-brother, Delano Bortz of Macungie; Grandchildren, Tesia (Bortz) Campbell, Lindsey (Maher) Seltzer, and Brianna Bortz; Great Grandchildren, Jada Lichtenwalner, Alexander Campbell, and Braxton Seltzer.  He was predeceased by a brother, Elden Bortz.

Funeral Services will be held Mon., May 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus.  Viewing 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home.  Interment with military honors will follow in Solomon's Union Cemetery.
