Brenda L. Hirschel, 74, formerly of Macungie, died May 9, 2025 in Geisinger St. Luke's Hospital, Orwigsburg.  She was the wife of the late Frederick H. Hirschel, III.  Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of Jean (Kale) Bortz and the late Walter Bortz.  Brenda worked in food service for many years for Sodexho and M. W. Wood, retiring in 2014.  She was a member of St. Peter's Union Church, Macungie.

Brenda is survived by her mother, Jean; son, James L. Hirschel and wife Stacey; daughter, Korey wife of Michael J.H. Schaffer; granddaughter, Brittney Hirschel; step-grandson, Eric Neiser.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus.  Viewing 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Allentown.
