Obituary

Beatrice K. Clewell, 102, died October 4, 2016 at Luther Crest Retirement Home. She was the widow of Edward B. Clewell. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Grace Kessler. Bea, as she liked to be known, explored several avenues of employment before finding her niche at Rodale Press, where she remained for 25 years. She was a faithful member of the Emmaus Moravian Church for many years before transferring to Central Moravian Church in Bethlehem. Although her first love was her family, her artistic nature and manual dexterity led her to become an accomplished pianist and sketch artist, as well as a dynamite knitter.

Survivors: Daughters, Joann, wife of Curt Adams; Mary Lou, wife of the late Dr. Edward McGinley, Kay, wife of the late O. W. Gill, III; Grandchildren, Sean, Erin, Richard, and Jody; Great Grandchildren, Michaela, Ryan, Conor, Fiona, Madison, Sidney, Riley, Cady, and Delaney. She was predeceased by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Services: As she gifted her body to science, a celebration of her life will be announced at some future date. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.

Contributions: Michael J. Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 4777, New York, NY 10163-4777.
