Barry S. Nonnemacher, 56, of Alburtis, lost his struggle with pancreatic cancer on February 16, 2014. He was the husband of Rosemarie (Striny) Nonnemacher for 30 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Christine (Roth) Nonnemacher and the late Harvey Nonnemacher (1992). Barry graduated from Emmaus High School in 1975 and was an outstanding wrestler. Barry worked in the golf course industry for 20 years, and took great pride in creating "PGA Quality" conditions, first at Center Valley Club, then Saucon Valley Club and Northampton Country Club. He was last employed by Northampton Memorial Shrine as a cemetery groundskeeper. An avid archer, Barry lived to hunt. He loved being outdoors, whether working, hunting, fishing, tending his garden, or just watching his back yard bird friends. In spite of his gruff exterior, Barry loved his family and friends dearly, and would do anything for them. His unique character will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
