Barbara J. Young, 97, of Emmaus, died March 24, 2016 in Lehigh Center. Born in Emmaus, she was the daughter of the late John and Susan (Mehi) Palencar. She was the proprietor of the Hotel Emaus and worked in the mail room at the former Hess's Department Store. She was a member of Living Hope Presbyterian Church.

Survivors: Sons, Brooke F. Young and wife Doris of Macungie, Rev. Tim W. Young and wife Linda of Emmaus, and Jon A. Young and wife Janet of Allentown; 5 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.

Services: Funeral Services Tue., March 29, 2016 at 2:00 PM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Viewing 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
