Barbara P. Ritter, 82, of Macungie, died peacefully Oct. 14, 2023 in her residence. She was the loving wife of Robert L. Ritter.  Born in Macungie, she was the daughter of the late George and Marie (Kloiber) Kelchner.  Barbara worked as a secretary for the East Penn School District, mostly at Eyer Middle School for 44 years, retiring in 2003.  She was an active member of Solomons U.C.C., Macungie, charter member of Macungie Institute, life member of Macungie Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, was active with the Macungie Flower Park for many years, and was a founder and coach for Macungie softball.

Barbara will be remembered by her husband of 59 years, Robert, brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and wife Phyllis Ritter of Vera Cruz, Susan wife of Stephen Sayers of Wisconsin, and Patricia Ritter of Schnecksville; nieces, nephews, and many cousins. She was predeceased by sister, Margaret Bieber.

Funeral services will be held on Fri., Oct. 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus.  Viewing 9:30 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Solomons Church Cemetery, Macungie.
