Augustine J. Duran, Sr. Augustine J. Duran, Sr., 69, of Coopersburg, died April 29, 2010 in his residence surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Claire B. (Clauser) Duran. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in October 2009. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Augustine and Concepcion (Macias) Duran. He was an electrician, working for IBEW Local 375, retiring in 2004. He was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church, Limeport. He was a life member of the Coopersburg Fire Company. He honorably served his country in the Army. Survivors: Wife; Sons, David M. Duran of Allentown, Dr. Daniel N. Duran and wife Michelle of Avondale, and Augustine J. Duran, Jr. of San Diego, CA; Daughters, Kristen wife of Vick Sarkaria of Edison, NJ and Micaela wife of Matthew Kerr of San Diego, CA; Brother, David M. Duran of New York City; Sisters Louisa Duran, Anita Duran, Ernestine Slak, and Isabel Duran all of Allentown; 4 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister Michaela Murphy. Services: A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 10:00 AM in St. Josephs Catholic Church, 5050 St. Josephs Road, Limeport. Friends may call 9:00 to 10:00 AM in the church. Interment will follow in Western Salisbury Cemetery. Schantz Funeral Home, Inc., Emmaus is in charge of arrangements.
