Anthony Groller, 89, of Emmaus, died June 8, 2016 St. Luke's Hospice House. He was the widower of Betty P. (Sassaman) Groller. Born in Fogelsville, he was the son of the late Frank and Anna M. (Beil) Groller. He worked for the former Willard Battery and later Exide Battery for many years, retiring in 1986. He honorably served his country in the Navy Seabees during WWII. He was a active in many community service organizations, served as president of EYA, coached baseball and softball for 26 years, served on the Emmaus Planning Commission from May of 1972 to the present, and served on the Emmaus Park and Recreation Committee for 51 years and was instrumental in erecting the American Flag Pole at Community Park, where a pavilion was dedicated in his name, the Groller Pavilion.
Survivors: Daughters, Betty J. Wessner of Reading, Sharon N. wife of James C. Oswalt of Emmaus, Karen J. wife of Ted Curley of Emmaus, and Tracie A. wife of Darren Golembeski of Zionsville; 5 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Dennis A. Groller and a grandson, Joshua W. Wessner.
Services: Memorial Services Sat., June 25, 2016 at 11:00 AM in St. John's Lutheran Church, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus. Visitation 9:30 to 11:00 AM in the church. Interment with military honors will follow in Northwood Cemetery.
