Annette Cecile Hamill Annette Cecile Hamill, 99, a resident of The Highlands in Wyomissing, formerly of Emmaus and Venice, FL, went to her Lord and Savior Sunday, May 15th. She was the wife of James A. Hamill, deceased, and they had been married 50 years. Annette was a 1942 graduate of Northeastern University Law School and a member of the Massachusetts Bar. She was the third woman ever to pass both the state and federal bar exams in the state of Massachusetts. She served in the Red Cross in WWII and was a member of the Womens Overseas Service League. She worked as a corporate attorney at Lever Bros. in Boston. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reading and had been a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Emmaus. Annette had been a French teacher at both Bethlehem Catholic H.S. and Moravian Prep. School in the 1960s. She also served on the Fountain Hill and Bethlehem School Boards. In Venice, she served as secretary of the Epiphany Parish Council and President of the Womens Guild. Born in Methuen, Mass, December 23, 1911, she was the daughter of George A. Maynard and Philomene Victoria Chouinard. Survivors: Sons, James A. Hamill married to Nancy Hamill of Reinholds, Robert E. Hamill married to Marjorie Hamill of Emmaus; Grandchildren, Brian, Karen, and Julia Hamill; Sisters, Gloria Kosciusko of Clemson, SC and Geraldine Lancto of New Bern, NC; Brother, Robert Maynard of New Bern, NC. Services: Funeral Service Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 10:30 AM in the Schantz Funeral Home, Inc., Emmaus followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Ann Catholic Church, 415 S. 6th St., Emmaus. Viewing 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Emmaus.
