IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anne
Farris
December 28, 1931 – August 6, 2017
Anne Girvin Farris, daughter of Dorothy and Robert Girvin passed away August 6, 2017 in Plano, TX. She was born in Philadelphia, Pa December 28, 1931. She attended and graduated from Mount Penn High School, Mount Penn, PA, then studied at Albright College, Reading, PA, majoring in English and History. She received a Master's degree in Library Science from Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA.
Anne is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ormond "Bud" Farris, Plano, TX and 4 children: Glenn Farris and his wife Maureen, Redwood City, CA; Lisa Farris Morgan and her husband Dave, Poway, CA; Christopher Farris, Norwalk, CT and Robert Farris and his wife Kirsten, Flower Mound, TX. Eleven grandchildren: Bryan Farris, San Francisco, CA; Megan Farris, Watsonville, CA; Sean Farris, San Diego, CA; Justin Farris, Santa Cruz, CA and Kristen Farris, Spokane, WA. Kyle Morgan, Santa Fe, NM and Jason Morgan, Oakland, CA; Sarah Farris, Norwalk, CT and Alex Farris, Norwalk, CT. Evan Farris and Luke Farris, Flower Mound, TX. A twin sister, Catharine Girvin Owen and husband Robert, Blandon, PA and 3 nieces.
Anne had boundless energy managing to juggle a career, raising 4 kids and so many do it yourself projects around the house with ease. She took on extra tasks to keep life fun and help good causes such as organizing book fairs and a youth bowling league for Holy Spirit elementary school, and coordinating several Las Vegas style fundraisers for Holy Spirit parish, Stamford, CT. She overcame her fear of water for family boating fun and enjoyed watching her 3 sons and grandchildren play ice hockey at countless hockey rinks over the years. Being with her grandchildren were highlights of her life. An amazing loving and inspirational family matriarch, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend - she will be sorely missed.
She was just as energetic in her professional life: Librarian at the Free Library in Philadelphia, the Reading Hospital and in the Stamford, CT school system. Later, she was a manager, trainer, and salesperson at CENTURY 21 Connect Realty (jointly owned by her and husband, Bud), Stamford, CT from 1977 to 2012 when they retired and moved to TX.
Funeral mass will be conducted Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11am. at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 415 South 6th Street, Emmaus, PA. Burial will be after the service at Calvary Cemetery, 141 South 16th Street, Emmaus.
