AnnaMae Wieder AnnaMae (Schafer) Wieder, 92 years, died at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest on January 6 2014. She was a resident of Cedarbrook Nursing Home Allentown. She was the daughter of William H. Schafer and Sophia (Krantz) Schafer. On May 25, 1946 she became the loving wife of Willard D. "Lefty" Wieder. Born in Brockton, PA, she moved to Macungie to raise her family. She graduated from the Allentown School of Nursing in 1943 and worked in the OR at Allentown General Hospital. AnnaMae also worked in the offices of Dr. Backenstoe and Dr. Kratzer in Emmaus until her family grew. She retired in 1964 but never forgot her nursing skills while being a loving mother to four boys. She was active with VIA of the Lehigh Valley and ARC of Lehigh Valley. With her husband she raised her family to enjoy the world of camping and was a member of Family Motor Coach Assoc. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Macungie. Survivors: Son, David W. Wieder and wife Rev. Kathryn A. Wieder of Allentown, Son Thomas R. Wieder and wife Pamela Wieder of Emmaus, Son Paul A. Wieder of Danielsville. Predeceased by son Mark A. Wieder and wife RaeAnn (Stichter) Wieder. AnnaMae was blessed with 6 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. Services: Memorial Services Fri., January 10, 2014 at 10:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Visitation 9:00 to 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Solomon's Union Cemetery, Macungie.
