Fink
July 3, 1913 – November 16, 2017
Allen D. Fink, 104, formerly of Macungie, died November 16, 2017 in St. Luke's Hospice House. He was the widower of Gladys A. (Lichtenwalner) Fink. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the Henry A. and Edna A.M. (Ritter) Fink. He honorably served his country in the Army during WWII. He was a mail carrier for the Macungie Post office for 14 years and later the Postmaster for 6 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of Solomon's U.C.C, Macungie, where he served as past president of the church council, elder, Sunday School teacher, choir director, and was the sexton of the church cemetery for many years. He was a member of Macungie Borough Council and served as president in 1957 and 1958, served as Macungie Borough secretary and was involved in the Planning Commission and zoning board. Allen was a founding member and past president of the Macungie Ambulance Corps., member and past president of Lower Lehigh Lions Club, past master and secretary of the Macungie Grange. He was a member of the Fink Family Band, playing the violin and accordion from 1937 to 1943. He wrote the 100-year history of the Macungie Grange, history of Solomon's U.C.C., and the history of the Macungie Woman's Club.
Survivors: Daughter, Patricia A. wife of Ronald DiStefano of Easton; Son, Dale A. Fink and wife Theta of Simpsonville, SC; Grandchildren, Steven Fink, Gretchen Renninger Vakiener, William Renninger, and Kamaryn Fink Jennings; 8 Great Grandchildren.
Services: Funeral Services will be held on Monday, Nov. 20, 2017 at 2:00 PM in Solomon's U.C.C., 82 South Church St., Macungie, PA 18062. Viewing Sunday 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Monday 12 Noon to 2:00 PM in the church. Interment will follow in Solomon's Union Cemetery. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Solomon's U.C.C.
