Alfred C. Diehl Alfred C. Diehl, 83, of Macungie, died April 7, 2009 in Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice Unit. He was the husband of Betty M. (Wanamaker) Diehl. They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in October 2008. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Howard E. and Bessie M. (Kline) Diehl. He was a 1950 graduate of Lehigh University. He worked as a chemical engineer for Air Products and Chemicals for 33 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. Timothys Lutheran Church. He honorably served his country in the Navy during WWII and was a 60-year member of the Macungie VFW. He volunteered for 10 years at Lehigh Valley Hospital and was active in the Hamilton Park Athletic Association where he served as an officer and a coach. He was an avid golfer and devoted to his family. Survivors: Wife; Sons, Glenn A. Diehl and wife Jo-Anne of Plymouth Meeting and Gary A. Diehl and wife Connie of Endwell, NY; Daughter, Donna M. wife of Joseph E. Berasley of Allentown; Grandchildren, Brian, Michael, Meghan, and Joseph. . Services: Funeral Services Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 10:30 AM in St. Timothys Lutheran Church, 140 South Ott St., Allentown. Friends may call 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church.
